Our Commitment to Quality

At Gabi, we believe that shopping for pre-owned fashion should be exciting and trustworthy. That’s why quality control is at the heart of everything we do – ensuring a great experience for our buyers and upholding the standards for our selling partners.

We know that pre-owned items have a history, but we want to make sure their next chapter starts on the right foot!

Our Standard: Good Condition, Ready to Wear

Our goal is simple: to offer items that are in good condition and ready for you to wear and enjoy.

What does “good condition” mean to us? It means items are free from significant issues. While you might find signs of normal, light wear (which is part of the charm of thrift!), we carefully check to ensure items meet our standards.

How We Inspect Every Item

Every item brought to us by our selling partners goes through a careful inspection process at the point of drop-off:

  1. Visual Check: We look over the entire garment – checking the fabric, seams, color, and overall appearance for any major issues.

  2. Functional Check: We test closures like zippers and buttons to make sure they work correctly.

What We Don’t Accept (Grounds for Rejection)

To maintain our quality standard for buyers and ensure fairness to all partners, we cannot accept items with the following issues:

  • Tears, rips, or holes

  • Noticeable or widespread stains

  • Significant fading or discoloration in spots

  • Strong or unpleasant odors (like smoke or mildew)

  • Missing buttons or broken zippers

  • Excessive pilling or wear that affects the look or feel

Our partners understand that providing items meeting these standards is key to our partnership.

Transparency is Key

  • Good Condition: If an item passes our checks and only shows signs of normal light wear consistent with its pre-owned nature, we consider it in good condition.

  • Minor Flaws Noted: On the rare occasion an item has a very minor imperfection that doesn’t disqualify it but is worth mentioning (like a tiny, hard-to-see mark), we will do our best to note this clearly in the product description so you can make an informed choice.

Seller Responsibility: Arriving Clean!

A crucial part of our process relies on our selling partners: Items MUST arrive clean and freshly laundered. Gabi does not handle cleaning; this responsibility lies solely with the seller before drop-off. This ensures items are fresh and ready for processing.

Our Promise

We strive for consistency in our quality checks, with clear guidelines for our team. Our aim is always to provide quality, desirable fashion items you can trust and feel great about buying, while setting clear expectations for our valued selling partners.
